Biography
Anushka Shetty was born in a Tulu speaking family in Mangalore. She did her schooling and college in Bangalore. She was also a Yoga Instructor and has trained under yoga guru Bharat Thakur. Her debut was with Nagarjuna’s Super. Her first Tamil film was Rendu with R. Madhavan. She has been more successful in the Telugu Film Industry. She also speaks Telugu, Hindi,malayalam and Tamil as well.
Film career
Shetty made her debut in the Telugu film “Super”, directed by Puri jagannath in 2005. In the same year, she acted in another film “Mahanandi”. In 2006 Shetty made a guest appearance in the film Stalin. Shetty portrayed the character Neeraja Goswami opposite Ravi Teja in Vikramarkudu.
Asthram, her next film, was a remake of the Hindi film Sarfarosh. In 2007 her film Lakshyam was released.
2009 is a very very big year for Anushka in which her film Tollywood’s Top 3rd Grosser Arundhathi released. In this flick she portrayed two central characters-Arundhathi alias Jejamma, separated by a time period of 3 generations.
Anushka starred in five films in 2008 Chinthakayala Ravi, Souryam, Okka Magadu, Swaagatham, Baladhoor and in 2009′s Arundhathi & Billa.
Anushka has acted with Vijay in Vettaikkaran which was released in December 2009 and it was a super hit. She is currently acting with Surya Sivakumar in Singam which will be released in 2010 and with Mahesh Babu in Kaleja which will be released in 2010.
