Will Aamir Khan to work with Katrina Kaif?: Aamir Khan who was hesitant to star opposite Katrina Kaif earlier as she was dating Salman Khan at that time is now ready to work with the actress post their break-up, according to the sources.

One year ago, Aamir Khan had told TOI, "Katrina is a huge star. But no filmmaker has come forward with a proposal to cast us.''

Around the same time, the two even featured in a photoshoot together, in which they reprised the look of Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman. After the photoshoot, there was a buzz about the two of them coming together in a film soon, but nothing happened.

Aamir reportedly even got an offer from a production house, but he couldn't say yes as Salman, Katrina were dating at that time. Now the same production house has approached Aamir again, and the actor might give his go-ahead this time around.

A source told TOI, "Now that Salman and Kat have split, Aamir may team up with the Bollywood diva."

More Expectation from Aamir Khan: Many producers and directors just dream of working with Aamir Khan, a Khan of few films, who is known to do just one film a year. But this year it’s two films for Aamir: Reema Kagti’s untitled suspense thriller to be produced by Farhan Akhtar and Aditya Chopra’s action-thriller Dhoom 3. So, what to expect from Aamir in these two films?

First of all both the films are thrillers. Reema Kagti’s film is said to be a murder thriller, an intense, gripping drama with Aamir as a cop. Kareena Kapoor is the leading lady. Aamir has already grown a beard for the film and will not be seen in a police uniform but will don casual clothes like he did in his film Sarfarosh where he played an IPS officer trying to fight the terrorists. Kagti’s film will finish by the mid of this year.

After he completes Reema’s film, Aamir will start working on Dhoom 3. He will play a villain in the film and is not ready to divulge any details about his character. All he has to say is that he wants to shock his audience, and by that we can assume he means us to expect the unexpected. As the Dhoom franchise is known for high octane action scenes, Aamir will prepare himself for the grueling stunts. Remember he has done that for Ghajini too. Last we heard that he will even sing a song in Dhoom 3 to be composed by Pritam. The music director has been told to finish all his other films first and then concentrate just on Dhoom 3. Yes, the movie is also going to be a musical extravaganza.

Aamir Khan turn to play the baddie in Yash Raj's Superhit franchise Dhoom

After John Abhrama and Hrithik Roshan, it is Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s turn to play the baddie in Yash Rajs superhit franchise Dhoom. Both Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will reprise their roles of Jai Dixit and Ali. It is Aamirs second film with the banner after Fanaa, where he played a terrorist.

“It is indeed a pleasure to be working with Yashraj once again. Dhoom is a great franchise, most entertaining and full of fun. Everytime I hear the theme tune of Dhoom it brings a swing to my step. “Victors script really won me over and I look forward to working with him, sharing screen space with Jai and Ali, and, of course, working with Yashji and Adi once again,” Aamir said in a statement.

Films producer Yash Chopra said, “I am terribly excited with what an actor like Aamir will bring to Dhoom franchise with his unique star power and level of performance.” Produced by Aditya Chopra and written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film will begin shooting end of this year and is slated for a 2012 Christmas release. Acharya has also written and directed Tashan.

It was a matter of pride and great honor for Aamir Khan who was invited by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to his 7, Race Course Road residence, was cornered for a private dinner with the visiting US President Barack Obama. Not just that. President Barack Obama also praised his work, taking Aamir Khan to the ninth cloud. The First Lady Michelle Obama told Aamir that she has danced to the song of his film Rang De Basanti.




While talking to the press about his meet-and-dine experience with the President, Aamir says,
“It was a real honour to be part of such a distinguished gathering. It was a very dignified and tasteful affair. I was seated on the same table as Vishwanathan Anand, who I am a big fan of. Mr Obama sent his regards to Kiran and said, ‘Tell her we missed her’. And Michelle Obama told me that she really enjoyed dancing to my song from Rang De Basanti.”

For the dinner, Aamir chose to wear an off-white kurta pyjama. From Bollywood, veteran actress and social activist Shabana Azmi, lyricist Javed Akhtar, and also Oscar-winning musician A R Rahman were invited.

Dhobi Ghat won't appeal to the audience, Aamir Khan: The aam janta waits for an Aamir Khan film with bated breath - that Aamir, the star, knows. But he fears that his next film Dhobi Ghat won’t appeal to the audience.

Though Dhobi Ghat was well received at the Toronto International Film festival where it was screened for the first time, Aamir has his reservations about the film, which is sensitive in its approach. Aamir is quoted as saying, “I fear that the masses may not like it because it is a very fine and delicate film.”

According to Aamir, the film is for the people who understand films and are sensitive.

The producer clearly admitted that it’s not a hard-core commercial film which will appeal to masses.

Directed by Kiran Rao, his wife, the film is about four individuals whose lives are intertwined.

Yet, Aamir believes that Dhobi Ghaat is the best from his production house.

But for quite a few days, the rift between Aamir Khan and director Anusha Rizvi has been brewing headlines.

Anusha, who helmed the film, has now drawn back from its Oscar promotion coz she fees that Aamir is running away with the credit. Besides, she is also not in favour of its commercialisation but wanted it to go sans cheap publicity.

On the other hand, producer Aamir has a different mindset. He feels that a film of such supreme quality needs to be viewed by the masses and hence, he won’t shy away from his duties of promoting the film.

During the DVD launch of the film, Aamir opened up and spoke to the press citing that the film neither belonged to him nor to Anusha rather it is for the public. Though Aamir refused to comment on whether Anusha’s decision to back out is correct or not he did mention that as an individual, she is entitled to her own thoughts but he, himself, was very clear about what he wanted to do with it.

Even as the film knocks at the doors of Oscars, it is ironic that the film that tried to spread awareness and showcase media’s atrocity has landed itself in a scandalous trouble.

Deepika Padukone was a strong contender for the leading lady part. Reveals an insider, "It's a two-heroine film. Aamir was keen to repeat his 3 Idiots leading lady.

“Meanwhile, Riteish and Farhan wanted Deepika as they've worked with her before in Karthik Calling Karthik and found her to be a thorough professional and sincere in her attitude towards work. However, they all decided to go with Bebo. What worked in her favour is their last big hit together and the fact that AK believes she fits into any character comfortably."

In contention
The insider swears that talks are on with Katrina Kaif to play the second female lead. The yet-to-be titled suspense drama is being directed by Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd director Reema Kagti. The film will go on floors on February 2011.

Aamir Khan playing 'Suspense Drama': Aamir Khan will end his over a year long acting sabbatical with a lead role in a suspense drama to be directed by Reema Kagti.

The film will be co-produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Excel Entertainment owned by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Farhan, who last worked with Aamir as director and co-producer of Dil Chahta Hai (2001), is excited about the new film.

"It feels great to be collaborating with Aamir a decade after Dil Chahta Hai. We had been hoping to do a film together since then. And I'm thrilled that it is finally happening with this script," he said. [via TOI]

The announcement of Aamir Khan's next film ends speculation that he may feature in a negative role in Dhoom-3, or work with Yash Chopra's directorial comeback opposite his Veer Zara co-star Preity Zinta.

Besides Aamir Khan, the new film will feature two leading ladies.

Reema, who earlier directed Excel Entertainment's Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2006), is scripting the new film with Zoya Akhtar. Production is scheduled to start in February 2011.

According to TOI, Aamir is looking at two more scripts as follow up projects.

Aamir Khan was last seen in 3-Idots (2009), Bollywood's highest grosser to date.
